Car Spoiler Wings
Force your car to hug the road at higher speeds with custom car spoiler wings.   Learn to harness the power of areodynamics and reduced drag coefficients to give your ride an edge in handling and speed.

Wings occupy the rear trunk lid area of the car and have drastic impact on the car’s aerodynamics. Wings are upside down versions of an airplane wing that are bolted to the trunk lid. The theory is that they slice through the air, separating it. Air traveling along the top of the wing takes a shorter amount of time to reach the back, thus creating high pressure that pushes down on the lower pressure underside. The downforce on the wing is then applied to the rear of the car, helping with traction and handling.

The most effective wing is one that extends up into clean air currents and out past the rear of the car, over open air. Keep in mind too that wings encounter some drag, but cars that need wings for stabilization and handling are usually equipped with enough horsepower to overcome drag forces.

Shopping for Car Spoiler Wings

Wings can be found in fiberglass, polyurethane and carbon fiber for $200.00 and up. Installing a wing means you’ll need to drill holes in the rear trunk lid, so it’s not a modification to take lightly. You’ll have to deal with repairing those holes if you remove the wing at some point. Some aluminum models are available with adjustable wings to help fine tune stabilization. The blades on the wings adjust in height, giving the wing more access to airflow for better handling.
